Salon History

John and Dorry Santiago began their first salon in Key West in 1976. They were mentored by many hair legends such as John Delaria, Annie Humphries, Horst Rechelbacher, Scott Cole and Paul Mitchell himself.

As their business grew a new salon was opened on Key West’s famous Duval Street. This location brought in celebrity clients such as Jimmy Buffet, Kelly McGillis and Captain Tony to name a few. The Santiago’s work was featured in many fashion magazines, album covers and movies.

In 2002 Salon Santiago opened in Fort Lauderdale. With this next location, came the next generation. The salon is now owned and operated by Dorry Santiago and her daughter Francesca Santiago. Together they have created not only a highly respected salon, but a successful product company as well. SANTIAGO products include hair care, skin care and makeup.

Francesca is Salon Santiago's go-to girl when it comes to esthetics. She has been highly trained in skin care and takes the time to customize each service to perfectly match the individual from treating the skin with facials to applying the proper makeup as well as prescribing the right at home regime. Francesca is also a certified Novalash eyelash extension technician.

Along with her hands on work at Salon Santiago, Francesca is also vice-president of Salon Santiago and head of marketing and branding of SANTIAGO Skin, SANTIAGO Hair care & SANTIAGO Makeup products. Francesca has a clear vision of how she wants Salon Santiago to be viewed by the public-a family owned business known for its creativity, customer service, and attention to detail. Francesca has an educational history in business and marketing. Starting her own cosmetic line at sixteen she knew early on how to establish a product the public wanted. After college she came back to South Florida to coordinate opening their third salon. Francesca expects only the best from her salon and employees. Customer service is most important.
